Symptoms of constipation

Symptoms vary between sufferers. Some people just experience a spot of difficulty, having to ‘strain’ on the toilet, while others may have physical discomfort, particularly: Wind, Bloated stomach and Stomach pains/stomach cramps

Causes of constipation

Just because you get constipation doesn’t mean you are unhealthy or even that you have an unhealthy lifestyle. You can follow a high-fibre diet, exercise every day and drink lots of water yet still get constipation from time to time. Even from childhood some people just seem to be more susceptible than others.

Why Is Colon Cleansing So Crucial?

We are all exposed to thousands of toxins and chemicals on a daily basis at work, in the home, through the air we breathe, our food and water supply, and through the use of pharmaceutical drugs. In addition, we are eating more sugar and processed foods than ever before in human history and regularly abuse our bodies with various stimulants and sedatives. These toxins and “dead” foods lead to poor digestion, constipation, toxic colon build-up, weight gain and low energy. These common symptoms are more than just an inconvenience – they can lead to long-term health problems and serious disease.

Hear from a recent client

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

My name is Mary, I am 50 years old and I was the lucky woman who won a competition in my local paper. This included working with the Ultimate Health, training and a Make-Over. I had entered it as I am at a changing time of life and had my daughters wedding coming up and wanted to look good for the wedding.

When I received a call from Janet Weaver in Dunboyne Castle Hotel telling me I had won I was thrilled, I then received a call from Lisa in Ultimate Health setting up an appointment to meet up with Caroline who was to be my therapist, great everything was starting to happen. Lisa asked me a few questions regarding Colonic Irrigation and I told her I was not interested in that side of the treatment!!! Famous last words but I agreed to meet with Caroline to discuss my diet and get some advice.

Week 1

The First time I met up with Caroline, I was in such a bad state, bloated and feeling tired but Caroline sent me off to do the Ultimate Healths detox diet for the next 2 weeks. I had 2 weeks of no caffeine, no wheat, no alcohol, no dairy, no fruit and no sugar. It sounds alot harder than it really was, I had lots of porridge with linseeds, herbal tea’s, fresh fish, chicken and some vegetables, once I got over the first week with all the toxins leaving my body it was not so bad and I was fine. When I was feeling a bit fed up I would go for a walk which I enjoy.

Week 2

We had set up another appointment for two weeks later the 20th July where I met Janet Weaver, who is head of sales in Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Eugene who was to be my personal trainer for the next six weeks. I had a chat with Eugene and we organised to meet up the following evening in the gym to put together a programme and janet showed me around the Hotel, Spa and gym area. I then had my first colonic!!! This was something I was dreading, but did not need to worry as Caroline was brilliant reassuring me and making me feel relaxed. It sounds painful and intrusive but Caroline was really gentle and explained the process, which helped calm me. She saidI was the most nervous client she had ever met (even my legs were sweating). The result of the colonic was amazing, the bloated feeling I had was gone, I felt better and had more energy just after one colonic. Caroline gave me a list of acid/alkaline foods that I could start bringing into my diet, I had to use the detox diet as my guideline when using the foods. She also gave me recipes for smoothies, using one as a replacement for breakfast or lunch, they were lovely. I set up a programme with Eugene and I am in the gym at least 3 nights a week and go out running/walking everyday.

Week 3

The training is going really well, I’ve been weighed and measured and have lost 9lds so far, this is fantasic, can’t wait to tell Caroline, her dietary advise is working and I feel really good having the Deep Abdominal Massage this week. Massage went well no bother I thought until during the night I became ill and the next day I phoned Ultimate Health and spoke to Lisa, she contacted Caroline to see if they could advise me and was relieved to know this was good, as the toxins in my body were elimating from the body after Caroline’s massage. I went to the gym as I had an appointment with Eugene but ended up going home as I could not work out as I had not eaten. That evening I went to bed and slept like a baby, next day Lisa phoned to see how I was feeling and to set up another appointment with Caroline. I am still on my diet but allowed a little bit more, I have to say I am enjoying the food alot more now, I’ve been trying out some new foods like lentils and beans.

Week 4

I am still using my smoothies which consist of mixed seeds, fruit, soya milk and a juice of my choice (copella or keilkin being the best brand). People are commenting how well I look and how clear my skin is, this is great!

Week 5

Meeting up with Caroline for my next colonic still nervous as ever once again with Caroline’s reassurance I had a bit of discomfort, nothing much and everything went well. Delighted with my progress as I feel the programme is going really well my old figure is coming back , and whoever said we all have middle ages spread can look at me now. No it’s great I never thought I would get this far.

Week 6

Feeling really good Caroline has given me another diet sheet this one has a lot of recipes on it with lots of choices. The wedding is getting closer with only 2 weeks to go I’ve even had to have my wedding outfit taken in, I feel curvy back to my old self! Met with Eugene and had a final weigh in, wait for it!! I’ve lost 1 stone and can’t believe it 2inches off my bust, 3inches off my waist and 2inches off my hips, Yippee!!!! Had an appointment with Caroline for my last Colonic but as I was due to do my liver flush and couldn’t (due to wedding plans) we could not go ahead, we will have to reschedule, Lisa did phone to make an appointment but as I have the wedding then I am in France for a couple of weeks, we will wait until I get back.

I want to say I don’t think I can thank Caroline &  the Ultimate Health Girls (Marese & Lisa) enough this has been a life changing plan for the better for me. Thanks Girls. I was a non-believer and have been converted, this was one of the best experiences I have had and the dietary advice will always stay with me, I will be visiting Caroline again, just to keep me on the right track.

I got what I wanted and much more the wedding was fantastic anf I felt a million dollars, I’d also like to ta=hankJanet Weaver in Dunboyne Castle Hotel for the use of the gym, Eugene’s guidance and the Spa facilities which are fantastic, the wonderful make over I received and the beautiful treatments which all helped to make me look and feel so good on the day.

Thanks again to all.

Colonic Irrigation arrives in County Clare

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Caroline Danaher of the Ultimate Health Clinic is now providing colonic irrigation treatments in Ennis, Co Clare located in Ozone Health and Fitness in Quinn Road Business Park,  The colonic treatments are recognised as the leading means of dealing with constipation, bloating, irritable bowel syndrome and helping with weight loss

The level of interest from the people of Ennis and Clare has been phenomenal in the new treatments available for the first time in Clare.   The Ultimate Health Clinic also provides colonic irrigation treatment in County Kilkenny in their Castlecomer base along with Dunboyne and Rathoath in Meath and the groups head clinic in Limerick.

At the announcement of the new Clare clinic Caroline Danaher, managing therapist explained how our bodies are put under constant pressure to function properly due to the consumption of processed and convenience foods, diary produce and meat, along with our changing lifestyles.  These combine to prevent toxic substances from passing through the body which result in the colon not functioning properly due to the build up of these toxins.  The outcomes include bloatedness and weight gain. Every body part is dependent on proper and efficient irrigation of its waste by-product. The colon is responsible for eliminating the largest volume of waste in the entire body. It only makes sense if the colon is not functioning properly that no other organ of the body can function properly.

When you consider that the average person who is at the right weight for their height could have between 10 and 25 pounds of waste in their colon it is not difficult to imagine how much a problem this could be for someone who is overweight. People should be aware that Colonic Irrigation is the most effective way of getting rid of this waste and overcoming associated problems such as Constipation and general bowl problems.  The waste lying in the colon can become one of the triggers for illness so it is crucial that people cleanse their colon to get rid of all the toxins that can manifest themselves there.

Food for thought

Why not try an Ultimate Health recipe to tackle the problems caused by constipation, bloating or Irritable bowel.

No Energy

Increase Vitamin B intake by eating more whole grains, oats, parsley and seaweed. Snack on sunflower seeds, excellent for a mid afternoon snack. Peaches are great for an energy boost. Lunch on brown rice, vegetables and avoid caffeine and sugary snacks.

Try a PINKY MANGO

2 mangoes

3 handfuls raspberries juice of half a lemon

4 tablespoons (75 ml) natural yogurt

8 tablespoons (120 ml) apple juice

Excess weight

Do not eat late at night. Cut out alcohol. Eat healthy, do not eat less and just eat the right foods. If you tell yourself you are on a diet you will be more likely to stray. Drink warm water with a squeeze of lemon first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

Try a GREEN GRAPEFRUIT

8 broccoli spears

3 grapefruits

If anything is going to temper the strong, earthy taste of broccoli juice and make it more palatable, it’s going to be grapefruit.

2010 Kick Start with Ultimate Health

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Ultimate Health Clinic has one focus for its clients, be healthy.  The increased focus on colonic treatments in TV health programmes has resulted in a surge in demand for treatments.  It is recognised as one of the leading solutions for counteracting the many contributors to illnesses and represents one of the best choices available for leading a healthy lifestyle.  When you consider the care and attention that people pay to ensuring the engine of their car is fully functional it is difficult to understand why we can’t apply the same logic to our bodies.  The waste lying in the colon can become one of the triggers for illness so it is crucial that people cleanse their colon to get rid of all the toxins that can manifest themselves there.

Also known as a “colonic” or colon irrigation”, colonic hydrotherapy is a safe, effective method for cleansing the colon of waste material by repeated, gentle flushing with water. Get Gut Healthy In 5 Simple Steps

Friday, September 18th, 2009

1. Exercise

A daily 30-minute workout can really help improve your digestive health. It’s not about preparing your body to run a marathon, it’s about taking simple steps every day to better health. Try walking instead of driving and when out and about use the stairs instead of the escalators.

2. Eat A Balanced Diet

Eating a poor diet, rushing or skipping your meals can all have a bad effect on your gut flora balance. Make a point to eat a healthy diet plan that includes fibre-rich foods, lots of fruit and veg – aim for the recommended 5 a day, wholegrain foods, pulses, lean meat, fish, eggs and diary products.

3. Limit Alcohol Intakes

You don’t need to be teetotal but consuming large quantites of alcohol can really irritate the lining of the stomach. Women should drink no more then 2-3 units a day and men 3-4 units.

4. Drink Plenty Of Fluids

Keeping hydrated is key for general health but also for digestive health. Aim to drink at least 1.5-2 litres of water a day.

5. Eat Prebiotic Foods

Prebiotic foods help ‘feed’ the good bacteria that are present in the intestines and are vital for both digestive health and in building immunity.
